History of the Los Angeles Jets

The Los Angeles Jet Track Club was established in 1973 with a few young athletes from a local elementary school and through the efforts of an all volunteer coaching staff this organization has expanded to one hundred and eighty-five athletes, ranging from the age of five to eighteen. we compete nationwide in the USA track & Field League.  Over the last forty years, The Los Angeles Jets have become one of the most competitive track teams in the United States, producing the following results:

  • 202 Individual National Champions
  • 158 National Championship Relay Teams
  • 66 National Records

The Los Angeles Jets Track Club is known throughout the United States as one of the most firmly established and well managed youth track and field organization in the nation and at the 2000 Junior Olympics in Buffalo, NY the Jets were recognized by the USA Track and Field Association as the team of the millennium – an honor we are quite proud of.

Many of our athletes have received track and field scholarship to major universities. We encourage our athletes to strive equally for athletic, academic and moral excellence and at our awards banquet we give our athletes almost as many academic awards as we do for their athletic awards.
